This Ring with silver cameo, is made by the artisans of Torre del Greco, Naples.
The cameo is a relief made on stone or, as in this case, on shell. Carved by hand, it portrays a classical figure, typically a female profile or a mythological scene.
Every detail of the cameo is taken care of with precision, enhancing the craftsmanship of the master engravers. This is precisely what makes each jewel unique.

Historical Curiosities
The symbolic meaning of this object is vast and changes according to different historical eras.
In ancient Greece and Rome they were used not only as jewelry, but also as amulets and seals. During the Roman Empire, cameos were particularly appreciated by noble families and were often made of precious materials such as onyx or agate. Each cameo told a story: the carved figures, which often depicted deities, mythological heroes or important scenes, symbolized power, protection or beauty. However, they were also used to engrave family portraits.
In the Renaissance, cameos made a comeback, with jewelers using advanced techniques to create unique, detailed pieces.
Today, wearing a cameo ring means carrying with you a piece of ancient history and art.
