Historical Curiosities
The protome, for the ancient romans, was an artistic representation that saw the depiction of the front part of an animal (and in some cases even people) as leone, bull and ram which were often used in ornaments and in jewels. The latter were above all made of gold, to show one's belonging to the higher social classes. Often associated with animals considered amulets or symbolic. The lion on this bracelet is a symbol of great life force, courage, pride and royalty.
