3D scan of the cast of the woman lying in Pompeii made, thanks to the wise knowledge of digital craftsmanship, in PLA and 3D printed with additive technique.
By cast, in archeology, we mean the technique used in Vesuvian archaeological excavations through which, through plaster or cement and water, it was possible to recover the shape of human beings and animals and plant objects that were victims of the Vesuvius eruption of '79.
The cast of the "pregnant woman" so known for the swollen abdomen was subsequently subjected to a CT scan which revealed that it was not a pregnant woman, but rather a swelling of the woman's clothes during the eruption.
