Perseus torso reproduction in marble of Carrara from the bronze sculpture of Cellini, 1545-54, one of the most famous statues a Florence.
Perseus he is remembered above all for the killing of the Gorgon Jellyfish, for saving Andromeda, who later became his wife, from a sea monster and for having been king of Tiryns, after having renounced the throne of Argos in favor of Megapente, and of Mycenae, a city that he founded himself.
