Ring with two-headed serpent from Oplontis ( Pompeii ), inspired by the original ring of the first century. BC, kept in the Archaeological Museum of Naples.

In Roman religion, the snake-shaped Genius (Lat. Genius) was the benevolent guardian spirit of the fate of families but also of individuals. A Pompeii the snake represented fertility and sexuality. Rings in the body of serpents linked to the protective deities of health were very common in the era Roman.
